LONELINESS....

It is quite weird, the poem was composed of jumbled letters that are arranged indifferently which somehow could form a word "loneliness". I cannot actually give a clear interpretation on that poem since me myself is nosebleeding, trying to unlock the message it wants to deliver through those jumbled letters.

The author's mind may be frustrated or somewhat has a problem when he wrote the poem. I do not see any pattern on how the author arranged the letters in a complicated but nice way. I can closely relate the poem to life.

Life is complicated, it frustrates us,it makes us feel ecstacy, it depresses us.

No two in this world is sacrificing the same problem. No two in this world is experiencing the same happiness from only one person.

Having the latest model of the cellphone right now could definitely make us feel so happy. But as months pass your cellphone will eventually be phased out. So we see, nothing is permanent in this world. Life is not about the material things we have.

Life is always unfair, it is not always as happy as a fairy tale story. But come to think of it, happiness will be just as tasteless as water without tasting bitterness. I think experiencing happiness all the time is as the same as experiencing loneliness for the rest of your life. Lonely in the sense that you feelthe same feeling without doing anything. I think that is close to being insane.

You will never learn to appreciate light without darkness. So as we will never learn to be afraid of the dark without the light. Life is a two way process, we need to experience bitterness taste sweetness.

KYSD

A teacher's work is not as easy as teaching a b c d. Every night you need to think if what kind of treatment shall you use so that your students will get to understand the hard lesson easily. It hurts a teacher thinking that he have done his best but still others failed. It hurtsthe teacher to hear that his students hate him because he is cruel in their eyes where in fact he is just disciplining them.

UP high has its own way on how teachers let their students experience how it is to be a teacher and this is through "Know Your School Day" (KYSD). What do we do on that day? Simple, we apply to the teacher of the subject we wish to teach. I did not apply because I am afraid my classmatesmight bot learn from my lesson because I am not good in explaining things. Anyway I stayed as a student. KYSD was actually the time when I was not able to get good scores in the tests that our student teacher gave us. Was that expected? No,not really. It is just that we are so confident because it is just our classmate teaching in front of us and we are so sure that they wont have the full courage to give us a minus five or a zero. And so we did a lot of talking and less listening. But it is inevitable that our student teacher will eventually lose their temper and that will be the time when our concience work and so we are ready to listen. We are not so mean, right?

I salud the all the teachers for bringing us to where we are right now. Accept it, without our teachers, we wont be called as "iskolars ng bayan". Without them, we will not get to understand those mathematical equation, those diagrams etc. It is indeed a very big sacrifice, having much time in school and less time at home but still they were able to balance both.

I feel so proud for our student teachers especially in Math because they were able to teach the lesson to us well. And they deserve a certificate. Actually, during the last grading test, I was rattled because I dont have any notes on the discussed lesson during the KYSD. Obvious, I was talking during that time.

If teaching is your passion, you need not to have a masters degree in Math or in English to teach. But you need a masters degree when you want to earn money. Well money is another thing.

THE LOOK

The Look
Strephon kissed me in the spring,Robin in the fall,But Colin only looked at me And never kissed at all.
Strephon's kiss was lost in jest,Robin's lost in play,But the kiss in Colin's eyes Haunts me night and day.
-- Sara Teasdale

Those are the lines of the poem "The Look". I have researched this poem and I have found out that Strephon, Robin and Colin are the names that appear in the old Elizabeth love lyrics. They are actually shepherds who managed to court country maids of the uncoy sort.

For me this poem draws a line between passionate love and true love. As I have understood, Sara Teasdale uses these three characters in her poem since these three characters used to court country maids. I see the poem as, when love is passionate, feelings fade. But when love is true even without those kisses, it will stay forever. Although kiss may be a symbol of love but kiss may also be a symbol for lust. Perhaps, Strephon and Robin's kiss means not love but lust. They say that eye is the door to one's heart. Colin may have done nothing to the persona but the feelings lasted.

When I was in third year, in our Health class, our Health teacher defines love as "love is feeling that only a feeling can understand". That is very true, we donot have to explain it because we will just get confuse.

Many things we can do to express our love to somebody. For lovers, kiss maybe is an important ingredient to feel love. It is normal. But for some a simple look in the eye can lead to very magical feeling. It is such a wonder how a simple look create a complex meaning. A look can expressmillions of feelings and a hundred percent sure that it was clearly understood. Is it just the eye that does the work or is it the heart?

A STORY TO TELL NO. 3

Playing Monopoly: Microsoft

Bill Gates was born in 1955 in Bremerton. In his early age he has the talent of programming. After graduating high school he set his first company named “Traf-O-Data” and he stop in college to start a programming business with his friend Paul Allan in new Mexico. They revised the Intel’s new 8080 to BASIC (Beginner’s All Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code). Why Apple started selling computers with Microsoft. In 1980 when the computers are rapidly growing. IBM meets Bill Gates to create a Operating system that allows application forms. Microsoft at that time is not an operating system that’s why Bill Gates buy the operating system of his friend for $60,000 which was the CP/M.
In 1989, Apple computers developed an innovative operating system that used intuitive graphics or pictures and at that time Microsoft copied the Apple’s operating system. Apple sued Microsoft but lost the suit. In early 1990’s Netscape was born an internet browser an the other was JAVA. Netscape and Java joined forces. On that time Microsoft also made a browser programmed named internet explorer an copied some feature from Netscape. In May 18, 1998 US DOJ filed a antitrust suit against Microsoft and Judge Jackson claimed that they violated the Sherman Antitrust Act, and Microsoft found guilty.

A STORY TO TELL NO. 2

A Japanese Bribe
Lockheed aircraft’s involvement on the Japanese Bribe for a Japanese Aircraft contract started in 1958 because of the competition between Lockheed and Grumman Aircraft which is an American firm. In Mr. William Findley’s testimony, a partner in Arthur Young Co. on the same year engaged in the service of name? Kodoma who has strong political ties to the officials of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party. Seventeen years later while the company was still negotiating the contract, a report was given to the CIA by an American Embassy employee.
Lockheed was desperate to sell planes to any major Japanese airline because of its series of financial disasters and wasn’t able to recover which led it to bankruptcy in 1970, but through a controversial government loan of $250 million in 1970 did the company narrowly avert disaster. Mr. A. Carl Kutchian, president of Lockheed was anxious to get sales according to contract. In 1972, Lockheed again hired Kodoma to secure the sale of its aircraft and eventually succeed in engineering contract with All-Nippon Airways. To ensure the sale, Kodama ask for & received from Lockheed about $9 million and as much money went to the prime minister Kukeo Tonaka and other government official, who here supposed to intercede with ALL-Nippon Airways in behalf of Lockheed. The Negotiation nettled over $ 1.3 billion in contract with Lockheld.
In June 1979, Lockheed pleaded guilty to concealing the Japanese Bribe from the Government by falsely writing off as “marketing costs”. Lockheed was not changed with bribery but with four counts of fraud and four count of making statement to the government. Mr. Kutchian forced to resign and Kodoma together with Tanaka was arrested.

A STORY TO TELL NO. 1

Brian’s Franchise

Brian is a well-off American in his twenties now residing in Amsterdam. A few years later ago, since he dropped off from college, he started his business in growing indoor marijuana “Patomac Indica” which soon became famous and led him to the idea of selling his expertise to others. Later he found several partners in town along East Coast and in return, partners gave him a percentage of the profit from each crop. He become the large Franchise chain of small indoor farms specializing in growing marijuana.
Marijuana originated in early and mid 1970’s most marijuana smoked in the US are from Mexico. 1975, however, the selling across the Mexican border was forbidden. Hippie Communities in northern California started cultivating their own crop for their own consumption and later, larger to sell to others. This spread to “Emerald Triangle” where most of the world’s opium is grown. Since California is the most favorable condition for growing Cannabis Indica, a frost-tolerant specie of marijuana, business grew and jobless rate which fell from 22% in 1975 lose to 9%. Though this business is important to the economy, federal government lunched campaigns restricting growing such plants which pushed growers to do research about marijuana that can just be grown indoors having controlled nutrients.
It was at this point that Brian dropped off from college and set-up his franchise operation having played a role in the research that le to the development of the new breeds and the indoor farming technology. On October 26, 1989 the federal government launched “Green merchant” a move to eradicate indoor marijuana which made Brian to move to Amsterdam where police don’t enforce marijuana laws. He used computer technology that monitors from the distance which enable him to grow the plants in isolated areas and if anyone broke in, it would automatically destroy the garden and all computer data.

HOW DOES A STYRO SAVE LIFE

After March is April, the month of summer. Some tourists visit Cebu to enjoy the heat of summer and our wonderful white sand beaches. How about me? Shall I also go to their place to enjoy summer? No, no, not at all.

April and May are the hottest months of the year here in the Philippines. It is the best time to go to beach and enjoy because this is the only time when we are free from school, terror teachers, deadlines, work and from pressure. The only pressure we feel perhaps is atmospheric pressure and if we are in the beach, we feel atmospheric pressure and liquid pressure. Physics! let us focus on the liquid pressure. Why do people enjoy the deep nlue water even if they don'tknow how to swim but for as long they have their styros and inflated rubber wheel with them? How do this styro and inflated rubber wheel works? How do these help? I can explain.

Density is equal to mass over volume. The greater the mass, the lesser the volume, the greater density. The lesser the mass, the greater the volume, the least density. Now, the least density you have, the greater possibility for you to float. Take note, possibility only. for example, a needle sinks but a boat floats. Bothare made up of the same material, butwhy does the other one sink andthe other one floats? Everything that is immersed or submerged in water is buoyed up by an upward force. This upward force is called the buoyant force. if this is so, why do other people still drown? It is because buoyant force is equal to the weight of water displaced by the immersed or submerged object. for example, a ton of steel must displaced a ton of water so that it will float. But if the weight of water displaced by the object is less than its weight ,then itwill sink. If an object sinks, it doesn't mean that buoyant force is not acting on the object.

Tips for you to enjoy your summer. To be able to float, make sure you displace water which is equal to your weight, if not greater than your weight. How can this be possible? Styros and inflated rubber wheels arethe answers. Styros and rubber wheels adds a great amount on your volume whichresults to a greater amount of water you can displace which results to floating. By using styros and inflated rubber wheels, you are increasing your volume but notmuch on your mass awhich results to a lesser density. Greater volume, greater water displaced, greater buoyant force, less increase in mass, less density. Enjoy your summer!!!
DESTINCTION AMONG THREE TERMS
(destiny, happiness and love)

God gave us freewill, freedom to do whatever we want, whether good or bad. And as a result of freewill, destiny takes place. Yup, destiny is not found in fortune teller’s crystal ball. But destiny is in our decisions. Yup! Without freewill, destiny is just a mere word, I even thought that without freewill, could the word destiny exist? Perhaps yes but maybe of a different meaning. Nobody knows. Destiny is often related to happiness and happiness is often associated with love.
But isn’t it more appropriate to say that love is associated with freewill? Since love is a choice, it is in your hands if you will use your freewill to love that person or rather use your freewill to reject that person and prefer to make friends with him.
For me, destiny does not necessarily lead to happiness. Everyday in our lives is a destiny, and everyday in our lives is not always happy. Sometimes we suffer from our wrong decisions and we are sad. But if we have accepted our consequences, then that is the time we get contented and so we get happy, despite of all the disgrace. Destiny is in our daily lives and is the result of our freewill. Happiness on the other hand is still destiny, happiness occur not because of destiny but happiness happens when we reached the state of contentment in our lives. It is destiny but it takes several steps to prove that destiny is happiness. So therefore happiness can be achieved through hardwork and acceptance. But it is still rightful to say that happiness is destiny. Next is love. Love is often associated with happiness. Partly yes and partly no, because if love is happiness, why are there still people who cry for love. I guess, this is because of the saying “nothing is permanent in this world”. Feelings fade especially when the love is passionate. This is the time when destiny hurts people and destiny is not happiness. It is really hard to explain these things because everything can change. This one can disprove this one. But still, this is my opinion. But this very sad situation can still lead us to happiness. Remember? Destiny can be happiness but it would take a few steps to achieve that happiness and that is through acceptance and hardwork. And also nothing is permanent in this world, hurts also fade.
So there may be distinction among the three words but they are still closely related. Love can be happiness and happiness can be destiny. Maybe we just need to remember that everything in this world is a matter of choice. You can still be happy with your failure if you choose to.

THE PRE- FAREWELL

This is the only time when you will have your last chance to reconcile on everything which weren’t settled before. To shout out everything which you kept inside for almost four years. The purpose of this is to prepare ourselves for the next step in our lives without regretting anything from the past. To reflect on ourselves if what do we really want to do with our lives, what course to take up after graduating high school.

Last March 24, 2007, 8:15 in the morning, everybody gathered in the Tan room. Everybody is excited but we need to have a briefing before going to that place. After the briefing, we had an activity called “positive stroking”. We were group in to two batches. The first batch formed a circle stayed quiet while eyes closed. And we the second batch stayed at the outside while waiting for the go signal. And so, we were told to quietly go inside and stood at the back of each person sitting again, waiting for the go signal. Go! We whispered the positive things that we like and appreciated on that person. Time is up! We have to transfer to the next person sitting and do the same thing until we have finished the whole circle. Some cried because they were touched by what the second batchers told them. I cried, even though I am from the second batch, I cried because I know that there will be no other chance for us to gather and be so happy, if that would happen again, maybe years from now. I cried because I am so sincere with the every single word I said. And so it is our turn to sit and to here positive words and be appreciated. I recognized every voice that whispered into my ear. Some made me cry, some were common and sincere, others are just so surprising. But on that activity, there are two persons who told me unexpected things. I will never forget what they said to me. She is a girl, she was the only one who told me “I love you xang” which surprised me. I was surprised because a while ago, I told her that I really appreciated her effort in helping us with everything and making us one of her priorities. And now she is telling me that she is also thankful because we have helped her to be a good person. I mean, I never thought that we have also helped her in that way. I thought it was just us who are always benefiting from her. The other one is still a girl, I laughed and cried by the words that she told me. A while ago, I thanked her because she was so caring last Friday, March 23, 2007. I was sicked by that time and she volunteered to get me a paracetamol in the faculty, she also gave me a massage. I was surprised by what she did to me. So that Saturday was my chance to tell her how much I appreciated her effort. And now she told me that I was one of who made her cry a while ago because she really did not expect that I have appreciated the effort that she did last Friday. I laughed while I hear those words and at the same time tears fell on my cheeks. After that activity she said “ilanga itagad oe”.

That may be a very simple activity but it made us realize that these batch mates of mine somehow made a very big difference in my life. They have influenced me in a way that I know that I am leading to the right way. Those unexpected lines from unexpected people will leave footprints in my life and never will be washed away by the rushing sea.

HOW LOVW MAKES US STUPID

Love I guess is the most interesting topic for all seasons of all times especially for those people who haven’t found the right one yet. Love has several unique characteristics. Like, it was never been old fashioned. Notice that no matter how “korny” a line of love is, we still find it romantic especially for those people who are in love. For example, there is this movie that you can really relate to and no matter how many million times you repeat it again and again, you still blush and feel the tickling emotion more known as “kilig” or “chuva chu chu”
Next is, love has no limit. I mean everybody of any age regardless of the status in life, regardless of the nationality and economic status. Nobody is deprived from love. Even same sex couple still feels love. I’ve got a question. Who discovered love? Because I think if love wasn’t discovered, it wouldn’t exist, of course. But seriously, was love ever discovered and who named it love? Who made it so popular? Gosh! I am already brain storming here! I was screwed by my own questions. But I guess love is just a psychological feeling that is stimulated by our brain. Really?! Ows?! Well anyway, we still should be thankful that love is all around because if it wasn’t for this we wouldn’t be here. Oh I forgot, for as long as lust exists, population will still grow and our race will still continue to evolve depends on the level of lust. Just kidding!
Next is, love can be felt in different ways. Quiet complicated, right? The love we feel for God, parents and friends is different from the love we feel from our someone. Maybe the reason why we don’t feel the same level of love because usually, the love we feel for our someone is passionate while the love we feel for our parents, friends and most especially, God is not passionate. It may differ but the level of importance is the same. All of them are important that we can’t afford to lose one of them. That would be a very hard decision but the wisest one is to chose your family over that somebody.
Lastly, love brings out the most stupid part in us. We may not experience it now but in the near future it is very possible. I feel so sorry and proud for those people who are getting hopeless but even do more to grab the smallest piece chance left. Why sorry? Because they know that no matter how hard they try to own that heart, they will never succeed especially when that heart belongs already to someone. They know it will never be theirs, but why do they still don’t stop. They often say that they gave up but deep inside they did not. They are just even hurting theirselves more. And why proud? Proud in the sense that no matter what a waste of money, what a waste of time and what a waste of tears. In the long run, they wont be regretting anything. Some people see them very stupid for wasting their time and effort on nothing. I don’t feel any stupidity in them, because at least they have tried and they have been true and it is just that they have the right love at the wrong time. For me, stupidity happens when you know what you are feeling is true and still you played the game and now you are saying that you are hurt.

SPEECH

PUBLIC SPEAKING
COLLEGE FACULTY GATHERING
A pleasant afternoon to everyone. I’m glad that each one of you made your way to attend in this gathering. University of the Philippines became my second home since I started working here. The teachers and staffs have been my brothers and teachers and the students have been my knees and nephews. As a Dean of this University, it is my duty and responsibility to take care of this school just like my real home. I would like to grab this chance to tell you my plans for this University in the upcoming school year 2007-2008.
First, I want to improve the facilities in the students’ restrooms all over the University. I notice that some of the toilets won’t flush and some of the faucets are dysfunctional. Next is the expansion of the library, this summer we will be receiving new copies of the latest editions of some reference books from the government but we have limited spaces. I know that this books are very useful to the students as their references especially for their research works, thesis, home works, assignments, projects and so much more. The last is, the putting of fountain stations in each building in the University including the high school. We have the right to safety and water these times are not that safe at all, it would be much better and safer if students drink in the fountain for free than buy an ice water for fifty cents and later gets diarrhea.
I limit my plans into three, but actually I still want so many things to be improve in the University like the buildings, the grounds and so much more, if only we have the budget. As of for now, the budget we have is just enough for those plans that I have just stated a few minutes ago. Perhaps with TOFI, it is not impossible to put these plans into reality. Thank you and good afternoon.

A COLORFUL FESTIVAL

People often interpret festival as government’s way of promoting tourism. Partly yes, but behind this tourism promotion, lies the talent, hardwork and the creativity of it’s people showcasing to the whole world the rich history a place can have. Our country has a lot of this to offer. We have the talents, hardwork, creativity and most of all we have a rich history of our beginning. Sinulog, a colorful festival presenting how the Spaniards brought Christianity to Cebu is an example of this. So as the Ati- atihan in Kalibu, Aklan, the Kadayawan festival in Davao, and the Dinagat festival in Cordova, Cebu. All of these festivals show the diversity of talents of the Filipino people offering their thanks to their patrons but there’s this one place in Cebu that has a different purpose for having their festival. Mandaue City, the "Emerging Convention City in Asia" celebrates a festival that offers a different purpose.
Mandauehanons take pride in presenting to the whole world their Mantawi Festival. This is celebrated annually not only by the Mandauehanons but also of the rest of the world. People from different places find their way to Cebu to join the festive mood of Mandaue during the festival. It showcases not only the creativity of the mandauehanons but also the beauty and intelligence mandauehanon ladies possess’ through Ms. Mandaue.

A DAY WITH OUR LOLA

The world rotates 365 and half days annually, equivalent to a year. As years pass everything ages so as we. As a human, we can prevent aging but we cant stop it. Aging and growing old is inevitable to us, as a human, animal and a living thing. The sad thing here is, not all people grow old happy, they may be sad because their family left them in a place where they’re not supposed to be. Their families may have heavy reasons why they were left there, nobody knows. Let me share to you my experience with the lolos and lolas at the home fore the aged, Gasa Sa Gugma.
Last February 2, 2007, our CWTS class went to GAsa Sa Gugma which is located at Mabolo, Cebu City. We arrived there at around 2:30 pm. When we went inside, a lola went near to us and entertained us. It seemed that she looked so happy that a group of students came in to visit them. Later, lolos and lolas were taken out from their rooms to mingle with us. Some of them can still answer questions clearly, some cant. However, we still mingled with them. Inside, there was this lola who shared to us her love life during the Japanese colonialism, that she has a Japanese boyfriend. There is also this lolo who also shared to us her experiences during the world war II. We didn’t bother to ask them about their families, they might be sad and just cry. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to eat with them because we were running out of time so we just bid goodbye to the lolos and lolas of Gasa sa Gugma.
Though we spent only about two hours with them, it feels good that I am one of who made them happy. It made me think that what if one day my daughters will place me there, at least I know how it feels to be inside there and I believe that in every action there ia an opposite reaction. I have done one good deed for them.

LOVE: AN ACT OF WILL, NOT OF HEART

LOVE: AN ACT OF WILL, NOT OF HEART
I have read in the book “questions young people ask” the definition of love. It was stated in that book that love is a choice. If you love a person then that is your choice and if you chose not to love so, then that is still your choice. My stand here is that, love is an act of will.
Scientifically speaking, love is an act of will and not of heart because heart is a mere pumping organ. It has no connection about how you feel. People often mistakenly conceptualize that the center of emotion is the heart which is absolutely wrong. When I was still in second year, I have learned in our social science class that the pain that we feel when we are in hurt is not from the heart. The happiness we feel when we are happy is not from the heart. The giggles we feel when we are in love does not comes from the heart. All of these feelings comes from our Limbic system. Our limbic system is said to be the center of our emotions but still this system is controlled by our brain. So therefore, I have disprove the old line “I love you with all of my heart”. But mind me, there are still a lot of girls who are fooled by that line which is supposed to be “I love you with all of my limbic system”. Sounds funny but it is the naked truth. I don’t know if many people know this fact that heart is not the center of our emotions but I hope that through this article in my blog, I have spread a fact. I thank our social science teacher Mc. Villahermosa for correcting us. If I have not know this fact, I might be one of those girls giggling when hearing the magic lines. But even if it is our Limbic system which is responsible for our emotions, there is still more superior than it and it is our brain. Our Limbic system is still controlled by our brain. Still, no other organ was ever been over our brain, logically and literally. So there is no logic in saying “follow What your heart says”, heart never talks.
I hope I have convinced the readers of this bos that love is still a choice.

PROBLEMS WITH BOTH GENDER...

PROBLEM WITH MAN….
Womens’ problem does not only involve maintenances but also men.
The problems with men are:
1. They are insensitive- insensitive to the point that they are aware that you are angry because they have done wrong but still ask “is there something wrong?”
“are you angry with me?” what a stupid question, isn’t it quiet obvious. I don’t know if that is their nature or they are just trying to test our patience.
2. They are such a braggart- this is unquestionable, I never seen a man with such humility. Somehow there’s just a touch of evilness inside them. I hate to hear it everytime I pass along a group of guys and then I hear such lines “Bai ataka lagi bai….. haha” with a very loud voice. Like, kindly lower down your voice? There are just three of you talking, and I don’t need to hear your boast conversations.
3. They just can’t get enough- grow up! Where can you see such man still an avid fan of goku, recca, Eugene or whatever character is that. They look so funny still doing the moves done by those characters.
4. They love to play- they play on everything. They play with toys. They play with their gals and most especially, they play girls. I hate it everytime I hear that a friend was just courted because of a dare. Like, who are you? You are h=just a man having those tiny muscles which you are already very proud of! But the funny thing there is, in the long run, they will still fall on the girl they played.
5. They can’t live without their moms- boys never grow up! They still depend on mama their things, money and everything.
In the long run opposite still attracts under certain circumstances.
PROBLEM WITH A WOMAN….
1. We are simply irresistible- boys! No matter how you deny it, it still us who can make you weak. A single stare from us can make you melt and a single smile from us can make your knees grow weak. Oh c’mon! That is true, right? Boys can get crazy over a girl’s smile. If a man has sleepless nights, woman is the possible and most probable reason. Haha!
2. We are unpredictable- we don’t deny it! But the reason of our unpredictableness is man’s insensitiveness. The best way to describe us is that we can be a flower now and a flower forever. Haha! It is not that we are unpredictable but it is just that we are so so sensitive, that the mildest word you say can hurt us. We give deeper meanings to the jokes guys tell us which can cause us hurt but at least even if we are hurt we can still manage to stay beautiful and poised.
3. We are smart- we understand simple and complicated instructions once. Period!
4. We are always beautiful- that’s true, even the ugliest woman in your standards has her own prince charming. But the ugliest man in our standards never has his own princess.

A THREAT FROM PLAGIARISM

We have this joint project in our Computer IV class and English IV class which is called “cyberfair”. To give you a clue, we are joined an International web designing contest. We were group by four, others by three and some are two. Each group is given two places to research on, the researchers need to go to the place and research through personal interviews, get pictures and other facts they could extract from the people on that place. Now we were warned by our English teacher Mr. Montejo that if we wish to research on the internet we need to revise or to paraphrase the statement and still acknowledge the source to avoid a charge of plagiarism.
One afternoon, while the Public Speaking class of Mme. Hermosa is in the LEADER having the activity “read speech”, Mr. Montejo rushed in the room and murmured something to Mme. Hermosa, everybody just thought it was nothing and so the speaker on front continued delivering his speech. And after the student speaker delivered his speech, Mme. Hermosa announced to the class that as soon as the Practical Law class arrive in the LEADER, we will stop and will have a batch meeting. It was kind of puzzling because it was not scheduled to have a batch meeting on that day, anyway, the Practical Law students arrived also puzzled. Mr. Montejo stood in front of us and announced that he is afraid that our batch might not have a one hundred percent graduate because of Plagiarism. He said that two groups plagiarized an article from the internet and never even cared to paraphrase and acknowledge the source. Everybody was shocked, as if everybody was guilty that the group that Mr. Montejo was referring to was their group. Our group wasn’t guilty because we weren’t able to pass our articles to the assigned server. Thank god we passed late because if we passed on time, we might be one of the groups who plagiarized an article. Mr. Montejo warned those groups to see him after class so that they could still give cure to the plagiarized article because if they won’t, there will be a very big probability that they may be expelled from the University.
Our website was safely launched and we ware still waiting for the announcing of winners, hope we will place.

HOW I WANT TO BE REMEMBERED AFTER I LEAVE HIGHSCHOOL

There are three types of students in a University, the airheads, the jocks, and the. Unfortunately, I can’t really determine where I belong because I am sort of a breed of those three. Weeks from now, my batch and I will be leaving the four walls of the University of the Philippines and it would take long before we will see each other again. I will be missing each and everyone in our batch. I will be missing the uniqueness they have and the commonness we have. I am the type of person who easily gets sick because of my weak resistance. But I don’t want my batch mates to remember me that way. Now, how do I want to be remembered after I leave high school? This is how I want to be remembered.
I want to be remembered as one of the most talkative and naughtiest girls in our batch. I may have the weakest resistance in our batch but I did not make this as a hindrance to be one of the naughtiest girls. And even if I feel like I am running out of breath, I still talk and talk. Actually, I only know two naughty girls in our batch, and that is me and my best friend. I don’t know if it is a coincidence or an accident because my best friend also has a heart ailment but still, she manages to be consistent with her character as a talkative and naughty girl. Our batch mates even give us a suggestion that what if, my best friend will breathe for me and I will pump blood for her, haha funny. To be honest, I am not regretting anything, that I became weak but naughty and talkative. Because if it wasn’t for my special extra curricular talent, I might not be as close with my batch mates right now which is a very sad situation. Next is, I want my batch mates to remember me as the “walking lyrics”. I was not the one who gave the title to myself but it was them. Not to boast but yup! I memorize lyrics of the newest songs in a short period of time. I also know some oldies. Perhaps, that is the greatest difference between me and my best friend because I sing even if my voice cracks, but she never dares to sing. But the truth is, she loudly sings when were alone especially when we talk over the phone. I don’t want to describe her voice because I am just a note higher than her. Lastly, I want everybody to remember me as one of their dearest friends in high school. I tried my best to grab every piece of chance to get close with everybody in school especially with our batch and it’s just that four years is not enough. But I am very sure that of that four years I never waste a single moment to laugh, to gossip, to have fun and to learn.
I cant wait for that time when I can see each one of us at the highest peak of our success and together we reminisce the moments we have shared way back today.

MY GREATEST FEAR

There are things in life that we fear that even us who experience it can’t explain. I don’t actually know the scientific explanation, all I know is that this is psychological, the fear also known as phobia.
I have this one fear that I just can’t explain and this is the fear of earthworms. I just don’t understand why I am so afraid of worms. Maybe it’s because of its structure which scares me. I hate seeing things that squirms no matter how colorful that thing is, it makes me shiver. And here is the challenge, our research study deals with the African Night crawlers. Our study was entitled “the effects of different feeds on the growth and amount of worm castings produced by the African Night Crawlers” Wonder what it is? It is just my hatest thing on earth, earthworms. My groupmates challenged me to touch our specimen for once in my life, they allowed me to use a glove, and so I tried. An echo filled our laboratory and everybody was annoyed by the loud scream I produced. I just can’t take it touching a worm. Even with a glove, I can feel its body stretching and I just feel like it is so grouse. After touching the earthworm it feels like its body is still on my hands. And I concluded that maybe I will never learn to love earthworms but I really do appreciate them.
African night crawlers is a big help to our farmers, they produce worm castings that are said to be five times more fertile than ordinary soil mixture. Plus, they feed on anything that is biodegradable, you can feed them with paper, cardboard, vegetable, anything and they will transform it to the richest topsoil on earth. So this means, through their worm castings, we need not to import chemical fertilizers which only add to the government’s burden. Also, African night crawlers can just be raised at home. They not only help the government but also help in the solid waste management. In fact, there is a place in Cebu where residents raise such specie to help in solid waste management and at the same time to earn income while at home. That place is Barrio Luz, it is where we obtained our specimens and asked tips on how to raise earthworms because the first set of earthworms we bought suddenly died.
Everytime we check our specimens at the lab, I have been the official recorder of their length and mass since my senses can’t take the earthworms. At the end of the first semester, we were done conducting the study and I have said to myself that I will be missing our earthworms. I have already loved them but not physically. However, our findings gave us a conclusion that feeds don’t really matter in terms of their production of worm castings but their masses do. The heavier the earthworms are, the greater the amount of worm castings they produce. The group of earthworms who produced the most amount of worm castings was the vegetable group. Nevertheless, they still feed on anything that is biodegradable and they even live without any feed but with water. Thanks to the African night crawlers, through them we have discovered something that can be very useful to our economy.

MY COURSE

I am a senior student of the University of the Philippines and ever since the school year started, I have already decided on what to take up in college and this is Mass Communication. But I guess, I will end up taking nursing. Honestly, I never liked nursing, but I don’t have a choice, I did my best to fight for what I really wanted but it didn’t work. My parents said that you will be very successful in Nursing, and my mind is saying, “how will I be successful if don’t like what I am doing”. Sometimes I want to shout to them that if they Nursing, why didn’t they study Nursing during their time, we should have been so successful right now. And I find it so unfair that during their time, their parents let them chose if what to take up in college and here I am pressured to take he course which was never been a part of my dreams. For me, anybody can be successful in whatever field for as long as they love what they are doing.
And now, I am taking up nursing entrance exams in different Universities like University of San Carlos, Cebu Doctors University and hopefully Velez. Yup! I am taking up Nursing no matter how much I hate it, I believe that in the long run I will learn to love the course just like how much I hated UP at first. I never wanted to study in UP high school because I thought it will only make my life miserable and full of failures. It’s true that I failed in some subjects but it did not made my life miserable, instead it pushed me to do more until I realized that I am doing it to be able to survive because I want to graduate in the premiere university in the country. so here I am making my English requirement so that I wont have any problem during the clearance signing. Hehe!
I already passed the entrance exams of San Carlos and Cebu Doctors, I haven’t taken the test of Velez yet and I wish to take because if ever I pass in the examination, I will study there, they produce efficient nurses because of their training. I know I will be successful in this career, I hope. Nevertheless, I will accept this as a challenge and I am already excited!

HOW I HANDLE STRESS....

Being a student of the University of the Philippines, it is inevitable to us to experience stress due to school pressure and activities. Stress is a serious situation, it may lead to several mental disorders. I think if I am not capable of handling stress, I might be found in the psychiatric ward right now. Seriously, being a UP high school student was never easy. Like, you are always busy because of a deadline, and truly it is such a stressful work. I often envy my other friends because right at this moment, they are already practicing their graduation song, and here we are, not yet done in our blog. Hehe! I may envy them but I am not regretting anyway. I am even proud because we are trained in a different way, we may complaint now but I know we’ll thank our teachers in the future for torturing us in a unique way. Wait, I’m supposed to talk about how I handle stress and why am I talking about our school? Maybe because, our school is the source of our stress. Haha funny! Back to the real topic. Here are my ways to handle stress:
During Sundays, I go to church to repent my sins. To ask forgiveness to be renewed. It feels good after going to church, it’s like charging yourself for another stressful week coming. Sundays are the only times I stay at home because most of my Saturdays are scheduled for research, college entrance exams, interviews and practices. I’m still glad that even my Saturdays are taken, I still have my Sundays. Next thing I do is to stay at home the whole day doing things that I love. Like from 10am-12nn, in that range of time, my grandmother usually ask me to go to the market to buy stuffs like food. Yummy! And by 1pm, I turn on the radio and listen to the Reggae Republic at 105.9 monster radio. I’m a music lover and Hawaiian reggae is one of my favorite genres, I love all the genre. For me Hawaiian reggae is an outlet for my stress, I mean, it relaxes me, it makes my head nod up and down, makes my toes stump and makes my body move, in short, makes me dance. Oops! 2:30pm has come, bye bye reggae republic and hello “your song”. I watch your song every Sunday, it is by episode and each episode is filled with kilig moments, though sometimes I find it too boring and mushy, I still watch.after the show “your song’ comes “love spell”, it is more or less alike for the reason that both are seen during Sundays, by episode and a love story. The only difference is that love spell has a touch of fantasy like magic, unbelievable and still, I watch. After love spell comes “the buzz’, I seldom watch that because after love spell, I again turn on our radio and wait for 6pm to drop to listen to “local vocals” at 92.3 Killerbee. It is self explanatory what the session is all about. Local vocals ends at 9pm, at 9pm I continue listening to Killerbee with its “Sunday slow down”, Sunday slow down songs serves as my lullaby to sleep. Rnb songs are played and those songs put me to sleep and then I just realize that it’s already 5:30am. It is Monday, time to go to stress, I mean school.
Isn’t my Sunday a stressful day? But I honestly find it relaxing.

VIGILANTE: KRIMINAL DIN!

Actually, we had a debate about this topic and we are the affirmative group. Now, the negative group defines vigilantes as a hero for a reason that they kill freed ex-convicts and murderers. They gave a different definition of a vigilante and a criminal. Vigilantes are people who kill bad people while criminals are people who kill innocent people. That they are helping to lessen the crime rate in our country. They also emphasized that because of the crime rate of the Philippines, tourists are discouraged to visit in our place. And that they are taking the role of our police because the government is not doing something. And as member of the affirmative group, I would like to prove them wrong.
First of all, vigilantes was never been a hero. Why? First is, killing someone was never been good regardless of whatever reasons you have. When you kill, you are violating the law of our country so as the law of our God. Second is, you can’t draw a line between a vigilante and a criminal! Because killing is a crime and when you do a crime, you are a criminal. The records they are holding are questionable. The probability that vigilantes are killing the exact people are questionable too. They don’t have the right to kill people and besides, since those ex-convicts are already freed, it means they have already paid their debt. Third is, vigilantes aren’t helping to lessen the crime rate of our country, they only add. Fourth is, don’t they know that because of that vigilantes, tourists are scared to visit in our country because of the fear that they may also be killed. It isn’t impossible, vigilantes kill innocent people. They aren’t helping the government, in fact they are only making things worse. And if they are helping, why are they hiding? Why is it that the government consider them as pests in the society?
What are the effects of vigilante killings on the people? Even in the high lands, there are still families who lives there and who earns their living there. And because of these vigilante killings, people are scared that they may be the next target. So what they do is, they transfer in the lowlands. And what happens next? As what I’ve said, they left their real homes in the mountains and together with this is they also left their businesses and other livelihoods. In the lowlands life is getting harder because of the high priced goods. Life in the high lands is totally different in the low lands. So we see how vigilantes destroy things.
It’s for you to decide…..
